Description
Trainee Client ManagerWe're looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Client Manager to join our Marsh Commercial / Bishop Skinner team in Witham. This is a fantastic opportunity to start or build your career in insurance with a global leader, while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
As a Trainee Client Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients and learning how to manage day-to-day servicing activity, including renewals, mid-term adjustments, quotations, and client enquiries. You'll develop practical insurance knowledge, build strong client relationships, and gain exposure to the marine insurance market.

We will rely on you to:
- Support the accurate input and maintenance of client data, ensuring records are kept up to date
- Help prepare scheme and open market renewal packs, including pre-renewal checks and claims updates within required timeframes
- Check policy documentation against client system records to ensure accuracy
- Process transactions on the system for secured scheme renewals and mid-term adjustments
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure enquiries, renewal requests, and workflow are handled efficiently and promptly
- Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or team
- Take ownership of First Notification of Loss (FNoL) reports and send them to the Claims Unit
- Record cheques, payments, and card transactions, and liaise with Finance Operations as needed
- Assist with accounting queries and reconciliations
- Update notice boards and help maintain a safe, tidy working environment
- Provide general administrative support, including word processing, database updates, minute taking, and ordering stationery
What you need to have:
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4, including English and Mathematics
- Previous experience or a strong interest in insurance operations, account administration, broking support or a related administrative role
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a high-volume workload and meet tight SLAs
- A basic understanding of underwriting and policy administration processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence when corresponding with brokers, carriers, and offshore operations teams
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- A proactive, reliable, and collaborative approach
