Position Type: Seasonal / Part-Time to Full-Time Hours During Tax Season

Season: Through April 15, 2027
About RD Tax Service
RD Tax Service is an established tax preparation firm that has served individuals and businesses for over 34 years. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) to join our team for the upcoming tax season.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience preparing corporate, S corporation, partnership, and individual income tax returns and be capable of working independently in a busy tax office.
Anticipated Work Schedule
December: Approximately 10 hours per week
January: Approximately 25 hours per week
February–March: Approximately 30–40 hours per week
April: Hours based on tax season workload through April 1
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex individual income tax returns (Forms 1040).
Prepare corporate and S corporation tax returns (Forms 1120 and 1120-S).
Prepare partnership tax returns (Form 1065).
Analyze financial statements, depreciation schedules, and business tax issues.
Identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with federal and California tax laws.
Research and resolve complex tax matters.
Work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
Minimum 5 years of professional tax preparation experience preferred.
Strong experience preparing corporate, partnership, and individual returns.
Proficiency with professional tax preparation software; Lacerte experience highly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple returns and meet deadlines during peak tax season.
