Description
Are you an experienced Senior Accountant looking to take the next step in your public practice career? Your new companyHays is partnering with a well-established accounting and taxation practice based in the St George area to recruit a Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm that provides strategic accounting, taxation and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, businesses, property investors, family groups, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds. As the firm continues to grow, this role offers genuine long-term progression, client ownership and the chance to play a key role in mentoring staff and contributing to the future success of the practice.
Your new role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will manage a broad client portfolio, deliver high-quality compliance and advisory work, and build trusted relationships with clients across a variety of sectors.
Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and SMSFs.
Manage a diverse portfolio of business and high-net-worth clients.
Provide advice on complex taxation matters including Division 7A, Capital Gains Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax and small business tax issues.
Liaise directly with clients, responding to queries and providing proactive business and taxation support.
Communicate with regulatory bodies, including the ATO and ASIC, on behalf of clients.
Review work completed by junior accountants and provide coaching, training and mentorship.
Assist with business advisory engagements and identify opportunities to add value to clients.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm and will hold the CPA, CA or IPA qualification (or close to completion). You will also demonstrate strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills. You should bring exceptional communication and client relationship management skills in addition to a high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
