Description

We are looking for a CPA to join a top Forensic Accounting firm in Southern California. At least five years of experience in family law litigation support services required. Your main responsibilities include performing forensic research on, and analysis of, financial data to identify such things as perquisites, gross cash flow, and/or unreported income. To be successful in this role, you should combine keen investigative skills with knowledge of accounting procedures. You should be able to organize financial evidence into detailed reports that will be helpful to attorneys and judicial officers.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of gross cash flow available for support
• Business valuations and Pereira apportionment of business interests
• Marital standard of living analysis
• Moore/Marsden and other property apportionment calculations
• Van Camp analysis
• Tracing for the purposes of determining post-separation reimbursements, Family Code section 2640 reimbursements and characterization of property as community or separate
• Allocation of interest in pensions plans
• Keep organized files
• Attend court, when needed

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Forensic Accountant with family law experience
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting and financial procedures
• Understanding of forensic accounting procedures
• Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets
• Strong investigative and analytical skills
• Excellent numeracy skills with an ability to spot inaccuracies
• The ability to handle confidential information
• BSc degree in Accounting or Finance and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Experience as an expert witness a plus
