ACCOUNTANT - JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Water Works & Sewer Board of the City of Gadsden, Alabama is accepting applications for the position of
Accountant. This is a full-time role offering Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, Tier I State of
Alabama Retirement benefits, and a competitive salary range of $59,500-$81,000 annually.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in governmental accounting, fiscal and budgetary planning or
maintenance, auditing, computerized accounting, or investment accounting.
• Proficiency in SAGE 100 and strong computer/data processing skills preferred.

Primary Responsibilities
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger
• Process Payroll
• Prepare financial statements and related reports
• Maintain accurate records of assets and liabilities
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
