Associate Attorney (Insurance Defense)

We are looking to expand our firm with an Associate Attorney to handle a wide variety of personal injury and wrongful death litigation throughout Southeast Texas. 

Our firm is currently looking for an associate attorney with approximately 2 - 5 years of experience. While this amount of experience is our goal, we would consider other qualifications for the right candidate (such as a part-time or full-time hourly position for a senior lawyer).

What we are looking for in a candidate:

       Exposure to litigation process, including written discovery, depositions and motion practice.

• Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with attention to detail.  
• Ability to accurately and efficiently perform legal research.
• Desire and ability to thrive in a team environment.  
• Strong work ethic.  

What we expect from our Attorneys:

As an associate attorney with our firm, you will be expected to handle the following tasks on your own docket of cases, as well as assisting senior attorneys on larger cases:

• Legal research and drafting discovery requests/responses. 
• Drafting motions, pleadings and legal correspondence as needed.  
• Attending depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
• Occasional travel to courts in Texas for hearings and trials, as needed.  
• Correspondence with clients and opposing parties.
