GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for the daily reconciliation of the Company's cash deposits including investigation and research of missing deposits, preparation of monthly journal entries, month-end close activities, assigned account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss and balance sheet variance analysis, and preparation of various quarterly audit schedules and accounting reports.
The base salary range for this role is $70,310 - $97,450. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Reconcile and analyze the Company's cash accounts including operating cash, disbursement accounts, payroll, and investment accounts.
• Take ownership of assigned stores' depository cash reconciliations using Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud (ARC), and research missing deposits by working with stores, loss prevention, banks, and third-party carriers while reporting issues to management and applicable internal departments.
• Ensure the Company's balance sheet account reconciliations of various assigned accounts are current and performed on a monthly basis.
• Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Tax, and 3rd party consultant to analyze unclaimed property and reconcile the related disbursement account activity.
• Prepare and review journal entries as assigned to ensure compliance with GAAP, carry out the Company's accounting policies, and internal controls. Adhere to the general ledger close schedule.
• Preparation of assigned tasks for quarterly and year-end external audits.
• Provide accounting support for other departments and stores.
• Prepare balance sheet and income statement budget and/or forecast as assigned.
• Evaluate internal reporting, as well as existing systems and procedures, and make recommendations regarding improvements in their timeliness, efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
• Deposit checks using a check reader, with occasional trips to the bank as needed.
• Special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• A four-year degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
• Two to three years of accounting experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong follow-through.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Detail oriented, with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to deposit checks, engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
