Morgan McKinely are curretnly partnering with a private equity-backed data centre developer and operator with operations in the UK and Norway. The group is scaling rapidly with significant institutional backing, providing an exciting environment for ambitious finance professionals who want both technical and commercial exposure.About the Role
They are seeking an ambitious, newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) to join our Group Finance team. This is a broad role covering UK entities and group-level consolidation, with the opportunity to grow into wider responsibilities as the business develops.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of areas including VAT, consolidations, reconciliations, investor reporting and tax compliance. The role will also include project work and process improvements as the finance function evolves, making it an excellent platform for a newly qualified to develop quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Initial responsibilities will include:
- UK VAT & Compliance: Preparation and review of UK VAT returns.
- Group Consolidation: Assisting with monthly consolidation across the group entities.
- Reconciliations: Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the offshore team.
- Investor Reporting: Supporting preparation of monthly and quarterly investor packs.
- Tax Compliance: Reviewing UK corporation tax computations prepared by advisors.
- Projects & Process Improvements: Supporting finance projects such as system enhancements, process transitions, and process improvements alongside core responsibilities.
- Taking ownership of specific group reporting workstreams.
- Managing and mentoring a junior team member (e.g. AP oversight).
- Leading or supporting further process improvement and systems projects.
- Exposure to wider cross-border finance projects as the group expands (note: Norway remains with local advisors).
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), ideally trained in practice or industry with exposure to consolidation.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
- Confident reviewing work prepared by others.
- Ambitious, adaptable, and comfortable in a varied role.
- Strong communication skills for working with both internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Exposure to both technical and commercial finance within a fast-growing, private equity-backed group.
- Early responsibility in UK and group consolidation activities.
