- Auditor I/Auditor II (Senior)
Description
Auditors plan, perform, and control financial, compliance, operational, and limited scope audits of contracts, grants and general operations of Manatee County departments, and agencies receiving funds from the Board of County Commissioners. Auditors also perform administrative investigations, provide consulting services and non-audit assistance to other departments and agencies, and assist the County’s external auditing firm in performing the annual financial statement audit.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and professional standards of internal auditing, accounting, finance, business administration, financial management, and/or investigations
- Ability to apply professional standards and techniques in internal auditing, investigations, and program analysis
- Strong analytical skills, ability to apply attention to detail, and effective written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in computer applications and systems necessary to perform audit testing and complete electronic work papers
- Good interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license
Education/Experience (Position and salary commensurate with education and experience)
Auditor I:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, public administration or other related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum one year of work experience which demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to apply attention to detail.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or other related certification preferred
Auditor II (Sr Auditor):
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, public administration, or other related field from an accredited college or university
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or other related certification preferred
- Minimum three years of auditing and/or related experience which demonstrates strong analytical and effective communication skills, and the ability to apply acute attention to detail.
